Species and clones used
Biopoplar is at your side when it comes to supply needs, as well as assessing the climate and soil of planting sites so that we can determine which species and clones are most suitable for short-term (Short Rotation Forestry) and medium-term (Medium Rotation Forestry) cultivation.
Our company in Cavallermaggiore, in the province of Cuneo, uses the following species and/or clones:
- poplar clones: Matterhorn, Everest and Mistral plus further hybrids (under registration)
- eucalyptus: E. camaldulensis, E. trabutii, E. globulus
- robinia: Energy selection
- Arundo donax.
Willow clones are being selected and the list of poplar clones is constantly being updated. Our research and development department is always working on new clonal constitutions and selections to replace or supplement existing ones.
