The terms Short Rotation Forestry (SRF) or SRC (Short Rotation Coppice) and Medium Rotation Forestry (MRF), on the other hand, indicate the cultivation of fast-growing forest species, used for the production of woody biomass.

At Biopoplar, we plant poplars, willows, Robinia, eucalyptus and other high-density species, managed with agricultural cultivation techniques.

Our company in Cavallermaggiore, in the province of Cuneo, also promotes the opportunity of mixed plantations that guarantee annual and multi-year sources of income. It is precisely for this purpose that the wood product is harvested with short or very short cycles, from 2 to 5 years, decidedly more frequent than those adopted in traditional poplar cultivation. The end product is wood material with multiple purposes, from pulp to biofuel, from OSB panel to wood chips, with a constantly increasing value, for biomass cogeneration plants and power stations.
